With no further tax rises a 3.3% rise in sales followed in 2013 to 1,265 million pieces with 2.8% forecast for 2014 to 1,300 million pieces.

Volumes are set to increase to 1.64 billion pieces by 2023, 29.6% up on current levels and equivalent to per capita consumption of 52 pieces, 4% ahead of 2013 levels but still very low even by African standards.
