Superhydrophobicity, also known as the lotus leaf effect, is witnessed in nature in various forms: Leaves, wings of insects, and feathers of birds. Superhydrophobicity is defined by the water contact angle on a surface. Water contact angle of superhydrophobic surfaces is higher than 150 and hysteresis is lower than 10.
