WhatsApp- one of the most widely used messaging app worldwide is continuously been upgraded to offer new features to users. Its app for both iOS and Android platforms have been continuously changed to be user friendly. Owned by Facebook, the company is again in news as it is testing new features to be incorporated in the app.
The newest feature to be offered on WhatsApp is ‘click to chat’. This allows users to send messages to numbers not stored in their phone number list. This will enable users to get rid of unnecessary numbers. The new feature serves to be advantageous for users who need to save numbers because of one-time conversation.
New Group Audio Calling Feature on Charts
To enable the new feature, WhatsApp allows to create a link to start chat with an unsaved number. Facebook – the parent company of WhatsApp has added a new feature for some beta users of Facebook app. The ‘Send to WhatsApp’ option allows users to share the link instantly. This eliminates the need to go to share option in the drop-down menu.
Another interesting feature in testing is group audio calls for users of iOS devices. Barring some minor changes, the new feature will be similar to currently used audio calling feature. The maximum number of people in a group audio call is still unknown. The conference call feature in normal calls will receive competition from the new group calling feature.
Apart from this, the ‘select all option’ is another update for Android which is in testing. The feature will enable users to select all new messages and mark them as unread/read. It will also enable users to quickly delete chats.
