According to sources, in a bid to propel competitiveness in the market and whittle Quantas’ market share, Virgin Australia exposed its plans to offer checked baggage and free food to passengers on board across the entire domestic network.

Virgin, as of now is the second-largest airline in Australia and sources from the company revealed that it would tailor specific menus for food and beverage which will be selected as per the time of the day and according to the flight durations. The food served to passengers will vary from muffin and yoghurt to sandwich served with drink.

The rollout of the complimentary meal will begin from Wednesday and the offer will be available to the passengers taking flight within Virgin’s regional networks as well. He added further that they were delighted to announce the new product offerings by Virgin Australia, which included complimentary food and beverages for in-flight passengers, in addition with providing entertainment throughout their domestic network.

Sources from Virgin Airline revealed the Gate Gourmet will be their official food caterer and celebrity chef Luke Mangan designed their in-flight menu.
