The launch of new Samsung Galaxy smartphones has brought with it an avalanche of questions with it about the possible pricing. Samsung will have to price its stylish smartphones with high-end features competitively to make sure that it appeals to the right crowd. Both the phones were unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked Event 2015 in Barcelona, Spain. The gadgets received fabulous reviews from all those who used it. The phones have a breathtaking design, which is a whole new game for Samsung. The design itself gives the phones a powerful and a premium feel. The function of edge of S6 remains slightly ambiguous and hence raises questions about the premium it charges for this specific feature.
As the phones make their way to the Indian market, retailers are expecting the Samsung Galaxy S6 to be priced between INR49,990 to INR54,999, while the Galaxy S6 Edge to anywhere between INR64,990 to INR 69,999. If Samsung takes some logical steps and prices these gadgets at competitive rates, it has a huge potential of recreating the success it once celebrated.
The S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 have similar specifications other than the Dual Edge, change in battery, and a few differences in dimensions. The S6 will run on a 2,550mAh battery, while the Edge is powered by 2,600mAh battery. Both the devices will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The phones will also have quad 2.1GHz + quad 1.5Ghz octa-core application processor. The S6 and S6 Edge will be equipped with a memory of 3GB LPDDR4 RAM, with variations of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
