Huawei revealed two new MediaPad tablets in Barcelona at its annual press conference of Mobile World Congress. The tablets are said to be pretty standard unlike the company’s new MateBook laptops featuring a camera oddly in the keyboard. The M5s will be made available in most countries of the U.S. as well as Europe and start shipping next month. Among the standout features of M5s could be their screens and build quality.
Third Version Features Added Support for M-Pen
The 8.4 and 10.8-inch new MediaPad M5 tablets have exactly the same features but priced at EUR 349 and EUR 399 respectively. The smaller and larger tablets feature storage space of either 32, 64 or 128 GB, 4 GB RAM, Kirin 960 quad-core processors, and 2560×1600 displays. They also feature Android 8.0, fingerprint and all other usual sensors, and 13 MP rear and 8 MP front cameras. Users also have the option of using an SD card expansion slot that could make available storage of up to 256 GB.
The 10.8-inch MediaPad M5 Pro will have the same specifications as the regular 10.8-inch M5. However, it will provide support for Huawei’s M-Pen. It flaunts a desktop view with expanded file management features and the ability to support a detachable keyboard. As for the pen, it supports tilting and shading and features 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. All versions have the option of LTE support and are offered in Mystic Silver and Space Gray iconic colors, as the company suggests.
