Zambia recorded a 27.37% hike in the number of French tourists to the country in 2014. This figure is up from 7,151 French visitors in 2013 to 9,108 in 2014. The rise in the number of tourists is attributable to the sincere marketing efforts taken by the Zambian Embassy in Paris that closely works with Zambia Tourism Board. With such positive records, the 2015 prospects are showing signs of greater growth patterns. For the first month of 2015, the Zambian Embassy in Paris registered a 50% rise in the number of French travelers to Zambia as compared to same period last year.
Domestic tourism is the most popular form of tourism in France as it accounts for nearly 70%. In terms of outbound travel Africa holds a huge market share of French tourists with North Africa leading the the way. However, in the recent past French tourists are looking out for new destinations with exciting offerings. Owing to these reasons Zambia is becoming popular amongst French tourists. It offers a perfect blend of tranquility, calm, peace, and breathtaking scenery.
Some of the major attractions for French tourists in Zambia are famous Victoria Falls, which are also known as ‘Smoke That Thunders’, the legendary African safaris offering an unadulterated slice of nature with 19 national parks. The South Luangwa National Park has been an all-time favorite for most tourists. The rich and varied heritage, culture, and traditions of Zambia are few more reasons for the French tourists to flock Zambia and take advantage of the superb connectivity between both the regions.
