We are living in a time when communication is getting highly digitized. Digital technology is evolving at a rapid pace, and now it has expanded its realms to the healthcare industry as well. Recently, Wolters Kluwer from Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) in collaboration with the Baptist Hospital in Bangalore, India released a new e-learning course on communication in healthcare. The new e-learning course was formally released in New Delhi at CAHOCON 2015. Dr. Devi Shetty, one of the most prominent names in the healthcare industry in South East Asia and the Founder and Chairman of the Narayana Health released the e-learning course in the event marked by the presence of luminaries such as Director-General of AHPI Dr. Girdhar Gyani, and Dr. Somil Nagpal who is a prominent name in the World Bank.
President of CAHO and the x-Director-CEO of the Baptist Hospital, Dr Alexander Thomas spoke on how the e-learning course will enhance the efficacy, timeliness, and accuracy in healthcare communication. He praised the efforts of the industry in taking initiatives to adopt the latest technology and spoke highly about the very successful book titled, Communicate. Care. Cure: A Guide to Healthcare Communication. During the event, Dr Thomas also spoke about the promising outlook of the national training workshops, which are endorsed by NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Organisations), the Indian Nursing Council, NBE or National Board of Examinations, Government of Karnataka, and Association of Healthcare Providers.
The e-learning healthcare communication course is designed to positively impact the quality of healthcare facilities provided to the patients and patients’ safety by improving communication in the healthcare industry.
