China is at present witnessing a serious paucity of physicians and nurses, mainly in the rural regions that need healthcare services the most. However, a training base has been developed in the province of Sichuan that will hopefully open doors to healthcare services and medical expertise from becoming accessible in these areas. This will take place because of the presence of a large pool of skilled professors and doctors.
The Chinese Medical Doctor Association in collaboration with GE Healthcare China has planned on providing training to more than 2 million professionals all over the world in the area of healthcare by the end of 2020. This will be marked by the development of National Primary Imaging Doctor Training Base in West China Hospital situated in the Sichuan University.
The access of primary doctors in West China to training and development will lead to enhancement in imaging and diagnostic skills. According to the General Manager of GE Healthcare’s Global Education Services, even if the best class technology is developed, the users operating the devices are at the minimum, impactful, when it comes to patient outcomes and actual efficiency. The implementation of the initiative in China is mainly led by the Western China based National Primary Imaging Doctor Training Base.
By the 23rd of July 2015, it is anticipated that the access provided by the training base to medical training and development of doctors will reach by far the most densely populated regions in China. Being a densely populated province, Sichuan witnesses uneven distribution of medical resources, insufficient quality of patient care, and a glaring talent gap. The training base developed by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association along with GE Healthcare China will play a pivotal role in this hospital.
