This weekend, a Reddit user has revealed information regarding the products which Apple has in pipeline! Along with upcoming iPhones and Mac hardware, interesting information has been disclosed regarding Apple’s smart glasses. It has been long since the news about Apple’s venture into smart glasses has been doing the rounds. These smart glasses are expected to come with augmented reality features and if reports are to be believed, the Apple’s AR engineers have previously worked with Facebook for its Oculus Rift as well as with Microsoft for its HoloLens headset. The Apple’s AR team is thus expected to be comprised of hundreds of engineers and researchers possessing expertise in varying fields such as optics or head mounted displays.

The insider has also divulged that the smart glass is expected to use a prism to reflect an image to a lens, which is of 428×240 resolution. The smart glass is outfitted with a microphone for Siri control. It also has an accelerometer which registers commands when users move their hand in a particular direction. Moreover, it also has a small capacitive strip that can adjust the volume and also accept calls. Surprisingly, there is no camera in the smart glass keeping in mind the battery life and design considerations. These smart glasses can use both prescription lenses and polarized lenses. It is anticipated that the smart glasses will be available for both men and women, in varying sizes. Some of the colors seen by the insider are champagne, crystal, and black.

Interestingly, the current Apple smart glasses reportedly do not include a camera due to design and battery life considerations. The product can house both polarized and prescription lenses and, if ever released, will be available in different sizes for both men and women. Some of the colored frames Foxconninsider claims to have seen include crystal, champagne, and black.
