The demand for fresh vegetables in Russia is growing on an annual basis. In 2012, the growth in the market of vegetables was 21%, compared to the previous year. Despite the fact that consumers believe mostly in vegetables grown in local greenhouses, domestic producers only meet the needs of one-third of Russians, the rest is imported. However, the interests of growers in the greenhouse were included in the state program to support agriculture, according to which Russia will have the opportunity to refuse imports of greenhouse vegetables in 2020.
