The air compressors widely applied in China mainly involve screw and piston air compressors. During 2006-2012, among the sales of air compressors in China, the share contributed by screw compressor climbed up from 52% to 74%, and the market scale reached RMB11.34 billion in 2012. In recent years, as the energy saving advantages and economic benefit of screw compressor have been recognized by the market gradually, the market growth rate of screw compressor has been much higher than that of the whole compressor industry, and the trend of substitution for piston compressor becomes increasingly clear.
