The Yark Automotive Group has made a final decision on the deal to purchase the Toyota franchise on the Conant Street in Maumee that was recently owned by Mike Rouen. This dealership, which went through a huge renovation a couple of years back, started with its operations under the Yark name from Friday.
John Yark, the owner of Yark Automotive Group stated that to add that portfolio of products is very big opportunity for their customers as well as for their organization. He further added that the store, which is in the Maumee/Perrysburg and as they don’t have any representation in that area, they were really excited about this deal. However, the terms of this deal are still not disclosed.
Mr. Rouen and his business partner Tom Schlachter has brought the Toyota franchise before 15 years. The decision to sell this came in light, as Mr. Rouen wanted to give all the attention exclusively to his dealership of Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram which is in Woodville.
Mr. Rouen, over a dinner in the last year asked Mr. Yark for an advice on selling this dealership. Nonetheless, Mr. Yark gave an offer to buy it. This deal was closed in the last week. Mr. Yark further said that most of the employees will be carried over through this transition, and some will be shifted to Mr. Rouen’s store in Woodville.
Yark Automotive will be having around 60 employees at this new dealership. The company had around 380 employees before the acquisition.
The sum of Scion and Toyota will provide the Yark Automotive Group with 12 brands from six automotive manufacturers. Yark Automotive sold around 10,000 new as well as used vehicles in the previous year. Mr. Yark informed that the recently acquired Toyota store should add around 2,000 sales to the mentioned total.
