SEOUL, South Korea, March 13, 2014: The Korea International Medical and Hospital Show (KIMES) for this year has begun today at COEX in Seoul. The event is dedicated in focusing on the growth, development and future prospects of the country’s medical and health-care industry. 

The event is funded by the country’s health and welfare ministry along with several medical associations and institutions and is scheduled to take place for four days, until the 16th (Sunday). In its 30th installment this year, the event is set to feature nearly 30,000 items from categories such as advanced medical equipments, hospital machineries and many other varieties of medical products. These products will be showcased by some 1095 medical and health-care companies from 38 countries including China, Japan, England, America, Taiwan and Italy. 

The range of items being displayed at the event include medical information systems, medical device component, oriental medicines, cure apparatus, ophthalmic apparatus, dental apparatus, emergency equipments, obesity cure medicines, radiology devices and plenty others. 

The event that has set the theme “Smart world for better life” is expected to host up to 70,000 visitors. Domestic companies such as Samsung, Maiden International, JW Medical, Listem, DK Medical Systems, SG Healthcare, Alpinion Medical Systems, HDX, DK Medical Systems will be joined in the event by many popular global companies such as Fuji Film, Toshiba Medical, Shimadzu, GE Healthcare to showcase their products. 

The event holds importance not only because of the range of products being displayed; it is also a place for latest information and information exchange for medical professionals. The event will cater medical professionals by organizing many educational conferences and international forums, which would represent a comprehensive educational opportunity for them. 

Plenty of seminars and special lectures based on 98 different themes for medical industry representatives, radiologists, students from medical schools, doctors, therapists and general practitioners are also arranged during the event. These seminars and lectures from the industry experts will provide high quality and significant information on health care. 

By educating its estimated 70,000 visitors about the latest developments and trends in medical technology, this show is proposing the future of medical technology and the scope of further development.
