Superdry displayed a pageant catwalk in Beijing for official launch of the company in China. The event showcased several key products at the British Embassy Residence. 

The event was attended by the Rt Hon Secretary of state for Business, Innovation and Skills, Sajid Javid along with a strong representation from several former and current government officials in China. The MP stated that the country is delighted to have the British fashion brand join hands with Trendy International Group, with the group pursuing to expand presence in mainland China.

Since decades, fashion is imbibed in British culture, which brand like Superdry know it well. The year 2015 marks as the UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange, with both the markets having great things to share with each other.

In China, consumers have huge appetite for British fashion brand, as such Superdry has high chances of success. Best wishes to both Trendy International and Superdry that have embarked on an auspicious partnership.

The aforesaid partnership that will bring Superdry to China is slated to be an investment of GBP18 million, which will be on 50:50 basis to be valid for a period of 10 years. This joint venture has evolved from initial introduction of UKTI.

In China the apparel market with a total retail worth of US$351 bn is expected to open immense opportunities for Superdry. This is particularly expected to be true as China is forecasted to be the largest footwear and apparel market in the world, to overtake the U.S. this year.

The CEO of Superdry commented that the day will be marked as a major milestone in the joint venture with Trendy. He further said that the company is excited at the prospect of entering China in collaboration with an established partner.
