The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) and EQUATE Petrochemical Company, which is the international joint venture in Kuwait, organized first time for roundtable for procurement directors for GCC Petrochemicals Companies.
The roundtable saw very good attendance, it was attended by leaders from GPCA, Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (ORPIC), EQUATE, National Industrialization Company (TASNEE), Abu Dhabi National Chemicals Company (ChemaWEyaat), Qatar Fuel Additives Company Limited ( QAFAC), Farabi Petrochemicals Company (Farabi), Saaudi Aramco, Borouge, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, Qatar Chemical Company Ltd (Q-Chem), AT Keamey, and Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem).
As commented by GPCA Secretary –General, the organizations that are involved in procurement are playing an important role for the success of the petrochemical companies associated with GCC. To bring the directors of procurement across the regional areas gave a chance to benchmark and hear from industry leaders to collaborate together effectively. The meet was a runner-up of the GPCA Supply Chain Conference which is in its 7th edition scheduled between May 3 to May 5 in Dubai.
The Procurement Director at EQUATE commented that the collaboration between GPCA members in totality is aimed at EQUATE as a strategic objective to adopt its slogan ‘Partners in Success’. To partner with GPCA and other members and to have sustainable development, EQUATE intends that the roundtable will be a stepping stone to create a procurement committee for GPCA also.
Concluding his comment, the leader expressed gratitude and appreciation for GPCA and to all the representatives of the companies that are part of the group for attending the meet that led to several fruitful conclusions.
