IMAX Corporation and Formula Kino - one of the most famous Russia’s leading exhibition chains in the country announced its agreement on installing three IMAX® theatres across Russia. These theatres will be new in construction in Moscow and Novokuznetsk and will be fully operative under the terms of the agreement proposed by IMAX theatres.

IMAX\'s new generation laser digital projection technology in the new complex of Moscow is expected to open in 2015. It will mark IMAX\'s first laser system deal in the country.

Formula Kino merged with Kronverk Cinema in December 2012. This cinema has an IMAX theatre in the regional city of Syktivkar. The merger between the two companies mainly operated under the Formula Kino brand. This agreement brings Formula Kino\'s to committing to total to eight IMAX theatres, with existing theatres in St. Petersburg (3), Moscow (1) and Syktivkar (1).

Nikita Schegol, the General Director of Formula Kino commented that being the first exhibitors in Russia and signing up for IMAX’s advanced laser projection technology, the company is really proud and confident to set new standards in the cinema world in Russia. She added, this is a cutting-edge technology planning to get established in the new Moscow site, and as the country’s landmark multiplex it is expected to host Russia’s largest movie premiers.

Formula Kino is a state-of-the-art exhibitor, marketer, and innovator of the IMAX brand. It is amongst the fastest growing markets said Andrew Cripps, President, IMAX EMEA. With strong partners such as Formula Kino we are determined to continue to grow the reach of The IMAX Experience® throughout the country.\"

The system incorporates the laser digital intellectual property IMAX exclusively licensed from Eastman Kodak and Barco\'s brilliant laser innovations, and provides enhanced IMAX\'s largest screens to cater state-of-the-art quality digital content with greater brightness and clarity and wider color gamut and deeper blacks.
