Coca-Cola is strengthening its base in India by launching its product Coca-Cola Zero. Though its product already exists in many other parts of the global, it is the first time that will be launched in India since its inception in the market eight years ago.
The drink has already been in selling in U.S., Mexico, Japan, China, and Brazil. After the drink received a huge fan base and appreciation through Amazon.in sales, it was decided by the company to sell the drink in the Indian market. The drink has been bottled in 300 ml, 400 ml, and 600 ml cans and pet bottles. For the testing period, the drink will be sold through retail outlets such as Reliance Retail Chain, Indigo Airlines, Subway, and INOX. It is only after 5th October 2014 that the drink will be available in 1.8 lakh outlets across the country.
This drink was first launched in 2005 and is now sold in 149 countries across the globe. The food and beverages giant has invested about USD17 billion in developing the brand Coca-Cola Zero. The product is an initiative at providing dieting consumers a certain variety. This new drink’s launch is a part of Coca-Cola’s promise to invest USD5 billion at the end of 2020.
In the coming four months, 1.5 million drink packs will be sampled for consumers to taste. With this process the company will gauge the pulse of the market towards its new product, to decide the next plan of action.
