As per the latest survey carried out by Manpower, increasing workload in Britain’s construction industry is calling for rise in employment opportunities. It is expected that in the coming year, various construction firms will be on a hiring spree. Paucity of trained and skilled workers in U.K. based building firms has led to greater focus on hiring of Portuguese bricklayers at a wage rate of 1000 pounds a week, due to a glaring shortage of skilled and trained Britons. Earlier the average wage rate was 500 pounds per week and currently the wage rate has doubled, which signifies the pressing demand for the specific skills required in the construction sector of the U.K.
During the initial quarter of 2015, the Employment Outlook Survey of Manpower had covered more than two thousand firms all across several industry segments. In terms of employment opportunities, after the utility companies, the second most rapidly growing industry in the U.K. is construction. The utility companies currently are witnessing robust growth with regard to the growth oriented five year spending programs. On comparison, the rest of the construction firms that will be taking to greater hiring has risen by 9% as against the construction firms that are not hiring currently.
A significant driver for price rises is that of labor shortage, and there is high demand for experts in brickwork and concrete. It is also expected that in the forthcoming months and years, there will be high demand for electrical engineers.
