According to sources in Cadillac, the company is all set to reveal its large flagship CT6 sedan March 31. The sources revealed further that the company has already made an investment of $300 million in its plant at Detroit-Hamtramck to start building the vehicle.
General Motors Co said that advanced technique of mixed-material manufacturing will be used for the new vehicle that is scheduled to go on sale in the last quarter of 2015. The vehicle will be launched at the International Auto Show to be organized at New York. Johan de Nysschen, the President of Cadillac said that the decision of using the advanced material mix of steel and aluminum will help the entire lineup of Cadillac to expand further. However, Mr. De Nysschen dint agree to disclose the price or the projected fuel economy of the vehicle to be launched. Nonetheless he went on to add that the new model is slated to be the most expensive vehicle of Cadillac till date and it would fall in the category of large and spacious cars. The fuel efficiency is promised to be at par with any mid-size car available in the market.
During an appearance made during the Washington Auto Show, DeNysschen said, that the company intended to improve its luxury brand and is all set to make an investment of $12 billion and unveil eight new models in vehicles by the end of 2020. In fact the company also has plans to unveil diesel models of SUVs and Cars in the markets of Europe and the United States by 2019.
DeNYsschen further added that the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 are going to be very crucial for Cadillac since the company is going to introduce a range of new passenger vehicles to the market.
