Bidalgo, the marketing partner of Facebook, is aiming to triple its sales in 2015 with its new technology that automates the process of making personalized online video advertising. Facebook’s increasing expansion in the video market has hugely contributed to the profits made by Bidalgo through its technology.
According to Peleg Israeli, the General Manager of Bidalgo’s Israeli operations, Facebook is fast emerging as a leader in the video market with users preferring to watch video ads over static images. Videos are usually expensive to make and this makes the advertiser to restrict to only one or two versions. Adaptation, the technology developed by Bidalgo, can automatically create many versions of one video to suit advertiser’s requirements. This leads the targeted audience to see images they respond to most. Israeli mentioned that the technology will account for around half of the company’s revenue in the next year. He further stated that the automated videos will let Facebook to gain an upper hand over Google’s YouTube owing to the fact that the social media giant’s core technology identifies users in the most accurate way. In long-form video, Google is still the market leader. However, it is facing stiff competition from Facebook in short-form video that runs up to several minutes. According to Facebook, it receives more than 4 billion daily video views, a majority of that through mobile.
Advertising analysts have pointed out that video is the next big thing for Facebook which will divert the advertisers from putting video ads on television. However, the social media company needs to acquire or partner with some companies specializing in dynamic creative ads. Bidalgo’s dynamic ads that change based on location or gender, have helped Facebook immensely.
